This method is based on ensuring the continuity of reinforcement using a mechanical device.
This method, which is more commonly preferred for column-to-column, column-to-beam, and foundation-to-column connections, offers the following advantages:
- It allows for the production of long columns in sections, thereby resolving transportation challenges during their transport on highways
- By eliminating the excess cross-sectional area resulting from the transportation and installation loads of long columns, it allows for a reduction in concrete and rebar usage, thereby lowering costs.
- By eliminating the need for chimneys in the connections between precast columns and sockets, it prevents elevation losses, thereby resulting in significant savings in excavation, concrete, and rebar.
- It enables the construction of multi-story buildings using precast elements.
